Where can I race these things?
Our Most Common Question
Some people care about power output; some people prioritize designing their perfect custom scheme; others want to know how it drives.
…but the universal quandary among all potential Track Attack buyers is the question of where and how to race one?
Every Track Attack car includes a special delivery day with guidance from Hendrick team members at Carolina Motorsports Park (or the venue of the buyer’s choosing for a variable upcharge) - more info can be found about that here. But after this first track day - the sky is the limit for Track Attack competition. With world-class circuits in all four corners of America and everywhere in between hosting events year-round, it’ll be a long time before there is a shortage of new corners to carve.
Obviously, a refitted Track Attack car will never appear on an official NASCAR entry list: these chassis’ days on the biggest stage are behind them - which is far from a slowdown. Track Attack cars don’t have to be completely torn down after just 500 miles - or ever, for that matter. Rather than rebuilds between weekends, the engine will provide peak performance for extended periods - not even requiring an oil change more often than your daily driver (every 2,500 miles is recommended).
Aside from the ever-necessary bolt check and perhaps some turns in and out of the suspension to provide clearance for trailering - Track Attack cars are delivered best suited for your needs, and while tunability is always the owner’s choice - adjustments are never required. Once the tires are aired and oil preheated (not at all a daunting process), you’re off to the races on any given weekend.
So what races are out there for you to be off to? Countless, quite frankly: it just depends on how deep you want to dive.
It is true that zero experience is required to purchase a Track Attack car - especially when equipped with the LSX454. However, whether you have years of professional racing experience or have never turned a lap on any track - we highly recommend a High Performance Driving Education (HPDE) and are happy to help find the right local organization for you. More comprehensive than even a NASCAR license, HPDE certification is required by many tracks and event sanctioning bodies before turning a lap and provides so much more than a beginner-level course.
Once HPDE certified, the doors of the racing world will be wide open to you. Whether you desire the freedom to lap solo at your own pace or crave intense door-to-door competition, there is an outlet for your attack level.
With most tracks across the US offering half and full-day track rentals, with price tags ranging from a few thousand up to the highest five figures, this least-cost effective option gives you and your friends the most freedom to make a ribbon of asphalt your personal playground for the day.
The most popular outlet for racecar owners is the common track day - a concept hosted by dozens of organizations nationwide that provides an affordable way to get on track with a select number of fellow qualified individuals for a safe and fun day. Most track days offer the ability to run your own pace, while many also offer timed competitions to test your mettle against the best of the competition.
For those craving a heftier adrenaline rush, the competitive potential isn’t limited by a simple stopwatch. A number of sanctioning bodies host door-to-door racing. Track Attack cars are eligible for competition in the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA Group 10) and other well-known vintage racing organizations, allowing you to return Track Attack cars to their primal habitat in intense competition with other boisterous fendered-cars. You may just find yourself beside another Track Attack car if you’re not juking it out with a vintage muscle car or modern prototype.

The beauty of a Track Attack car is it is truly built for you. You won’t find a safer option that offers so many options to turn laps in.
Track Attack cars offer you the chance to feel the tranquility of disturbing nature by yourself, or the opportunity to finally compete side-by-side in one of the same cars you see winning on Sunday. The choice is yours. You might even find yourself charging the bus-stop at Watkins Glen like Chase Elliott or snaking your way around Sonoma like Jeff Gordon.
